John Gilliam will fight a fighter from Massachusetts for the title.He fought last year for the title in Bradenton Florida against Jarred Wright in a great fight in which many saw as a controversial hometown draw decision .John took the fight to Jared for the entire 5 rounds and was surprised by the decision.John has been looking forward to fighting for this title again to unify the title in his weight class.

John Gilliam has fought since he was 10 years old. he has trained with World Kickboxing Champion TOMMY "BEE"BOTTONE in all aspects of full contact fighting Kickboxing,Muay-Thai,Sanda,Boxing,Grappling,and Self defense tactics.

John is a 2 ND degree instructor in American Fighting Concepts (AFC) under World Kickboxing Champion TOMMY "BEE" BOTTONE , He teaches classes at AFC kickboxing and is looked up to by many children in the school who see what he achieved from the same class that they are taking now.Tommy says that John is a perfect example of what AFC kickboxing  was created for .Our concept has always been to teach all aspects of realistic fighting concepts to young kids in the neighborhood in which we grew up in giving the local kids opportunities to see the World doing what we love to do while staying out of trouble.

John has had the chance to train with many World Champions at AFC kickboxing over the years such as Tommy Bottone, Kieth Young's,Adam Czachor,John Madden,Chad Distefano,Tarek Rached,Ken Hewski,Kathy Bremer,Chrissy Yandolli. to name a few as well as training with such guest like Don "The Dragon" Wilson .

Over his decade of fighting John has fought under many different styles of fighting and winning in all of them.His biggest achievement to date was recently going to China and fighting against a National Sanshou champion and winning by 2 rd TKO with a great Spinning back fist. This fight was on live TV and he was on the front page of the morning news.

John has also in the last year alone won the World USKBA Kickboxing Tournament,The PKF World Kickboxing Title by 4 Th rd KO,the WKA north American title ,the WAKO Silver medal ,John Has also been captin of Team USA which fought last year in Canada and many other fights along the way.

John has always been a good athlete besides being a kickboxer he was a  wrestler,and baseball player  for Longwood High school and has gone on to play baseball for St Joseph's College in Patchogue ,NY where he fought recently in front of his college fans where he is a senior.

People in the Kickboxing Business have been asking when John Will turn pro ,He wants to unify the title and be the undisputed Amateur World Champion before he decides to turn pro.

John has discussed with his trainer Tommy that he would like to fight in the World Combat league presented by Chuck Norris on the VS channel in the Future.Tommy has already been speaking to the WCL matchmakers in reference to this in the future. TOMMY Bottone has recently been made a WCL trainer which will be working  in - Atlantic City NJ on Dec 1 st at the Taj- Mahal Casino Resort.

This is a fight which John has been waiting a long time for and he plans on winning it !
