Good
(February 3rd, Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City) It may have been chaotic behind the scenes, but at tonight's "World's Best Fighter" event at Boardwalk Hall, the action in the ring more than made up for it. With matchmaker Ed Hsu's card pitting some of New Jersey's best against representatives from South Korean, China and Japan, the evening's "Team USA versus Team Asia" motif steadily became "Team USA beating the crap out of Team Asia". Yes folks, aside from two impressive KOs in the San Da bouts, it was a veritable MMA trouncing. Highlights of the night included:
  • Team Tiger Schulmann's Lyman Good, who utilized precision striking to put the game Julio Cruz on queer street and keep him there until the ref stepped in.

  • The spirited submission battle waged by Kevin Roddy and Jong Man Kim. Kim had some fantastic grappling, but Roddy was always a step ahead, and had Kim tapping before the end of the first round.

  • Greg Soto's one-side beatdown over Hyun Kyu Lim. From takedown to hellacious elbows to armbar, this bout was all Soto.

** USKBA ACTION SPORTS News of...  ...MONDAY, JANUARY 15, 2007 **

TANK ABBOTT TO LEAD TEAM USA AGAINST TEAM ASIA AT "WORLD'S BEST FIGHTER" AT BOARDWALK HALL IN ATLANTIC CITY

The event is set for February , 3, 2007 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The event will feature Professional MMA bouts and Professional San Da bouts. The event is first installment of "WORLD'S BEST FIGHTER" and will showcase TEAM USA vs TEAM ASIA. Team USA will be led by MMA Superstar TANK ABBOTT. USKBA ACTION SPORTS Promoter Ed Hsu (GHK Promotions) is the matchmaker for the event, which is sanctioned by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board, Commissioner Larry Hazzard Sr., and USKBA ACTION SPORTS.

From the promoter… “It’s amazing how the simple proclamation that, “I am the best”, can get another competitor’s juices flowing. It’s these words that have awakened sleeping giants, but they have also put many to sleep, because in the end there can only be one. The competitive juices are flowing between the USA and Asian competitors, and Roy Foreman (brother of Big George) and his company, Ro-Ro Productions will act as the valve that will bring the rush of both teams together in the first “World’s Best Fighter – USA vs. Asia” card to be held at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 3, 2007.”
