"MOHEGAN SUN CHALLENGE OF CHAMPIONS" CROWNS EIGHT NEW CHAMPIONS

USKBA ACTION SPORTS Promoter Peter Rogers' "MOHEGAN SUN CHALLENGE OF CHAMPIONS" on October 22, 2005 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut, brought together many top and up and coming amateur fighters in Full Contact Kickboxing, San Da, Thaiboxing and Continuous Contact. Whether the bout was for a title or not, all the fighters came ready to fight and showed everyone the future of our sports. Since the magnitude of this event cannot possibly be portrayed in one article, this article will be the first one dedicated to the results of the bouts.

In all, USKBA ACTION SPORTS Promoter Peter Rogers'"MOHEGAN SUN CHALLENGE OF CHAMPIONS" consisted of 18 bouts that were in the ring for three and a half hours of action sports entertainment.

Mohegan Sun Casino Resort Kickboxng October 22nd.

Saturday night October 22 nd Kickboxing took the Mohegan Sun casino by storm.

The USKBA with promoter Peter Rogers put together some of the best amateur kickboxers in the game today in Full contact Kickboxing,Sanda,and Mauy-Thai.Thye also had a few Continuos contact matches for some beginner kickboxers to test there skills.

This was a great showcase for amateur kickboxing for all styles as some of the best fighters where on this event against eachother.

The promoter also invited many current pro USKBA World champions to sign autographs.Here are some of the World Champions that where in attendance Tommy "BEE" Bottone,
Angello" The Italian Tornado" Randy "the professer" Pogue,Tim " Bring The Paine "Lane, Peter "F-16" Kalkevic,Marco Seis,and Kelly Morse. These champions where there for the National karate tounament that was held during the day as well as during the kickboxing matches at night.

The event started with a few continuos matches with new to the Kickboxing seen 16 year old female teen sensation Mina Sarihasan winning an exciting match bringing her to 3-0 .

Full contact Kickboxing was treated to a great north amercian title fight with Joihn Gilliam,NY vs Housan Alexander ,Maine This was a great match showacasing awesome punchoing and kicking skills from both athletes .Boith fighters lost 1 point "Kicking penalty " which was odd as they are both great kickers.Neither fighter wanted to give an inch.The result was John Gilliam 19 years old winning by unanimous decission. John Gilliam has been training at AFC Kickboxing with Tommy "BEE" Bottone since he was 10 years old and really had to rely on his experince and hart to win this match.

won a North american title in a very close fight .

Some of the Full contact fighters where from schools such as Angello Dibella kicboxing, America's Finest Kickboxing

,AFC Kickboxing,NYKK,World Gym Rochester,and Bobby Campbel kickbxing.

Mauy-Thai had many good fights with teams such as Boston Muay-Thai,Boradin's Gym,Extreme Muay-Thai,NYKK and others putting on some great matches.

Sanda/Sanshou had some of the best teams in the US represented on this event such as Boston sanshou,NYKK,Ohio,Houstan,and some fighters from the Cung-Le team in California as well.

In a Womens Sanda World title match Sara Ponce Fought Norma from NYKK in a tough battle . Norma was pressing the whole fight trying to get thru as Sara showed her great skills with throwing very good punch ,kick and throwing combimations as well as utilizing good knees whenever the stronger Norma would attempt to clinch. This was a great showcase for thew sport of Sanda as both fighters showed tremdous heart and skill . Sara Ponce won by decission and is the USKBA Womens World Sanda champion.
